Parallel Session #2 - The Converging Area of Neuroscience and Arts
Speaker: Jae-Seung, Jeong
Preparing the conference, I read his book and it was a good decision.
First, I could understand his presentation easily because he covered a lot of portion of his presentation with his book.
Second, I could imagine the way of loving human beings as a researcher.
It was great honor to meet him, take a photo, and ask some curious things.
Plenary Session - Alternative Futures for Intelligence, Human and Artificial
Speaker: Jim Dator
(http://www.futures.hawaii.edu)
Purpose of futures studies: help people to make a decision and invent preferred future.
What a Futurist does: forecast (not predict) Alternative FutureS
Later 30-50 years, the society might consist of:
Contiuations 5%
Cycles 15%
Novelities 80%
ANY USEFUL IDEA ABOUT THE FUTURES SHOULD APPEAR TO BE RIDICULOUS.
Humans have limited intelligence, but powerful emotions.
It is too late to preserve nature design new lifeforms.
==================================================================
I'm sure that people should try to make A better future than they are imaging. The future will be determined by people who want to make their own future, and by their vision and passion. I was suprised that I was the person who think his future and his society's future separately. (People usually do.) Now, what can I do for a better future? What part of the world can I contribute to?
